Peshawar High Court's judge Muhammad Ayub Khan sustains critical bullet wounds

He was on his way to his office when armed men intercepted his car at Hayatabad area of Peshawar.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) judge Muhammad Ayub Khan sustained critical injuries when unidentified assailants opened fire at his car on Thursday morning, police say.

According to sources, Justice Khan was on his way to his office when armed men intercepted his car at Hayatabad area of the city.

Rescue officials and police rushed to the spot, and shifted him to North West Medical Complex and his driver to Hayatabad Medical Complex.

Meanwhile, police is further investigating into the incident as assailants managed to flee from the spot.

A heavy contingent of police moved to the area and started search operation.

Police have found bullet shells for a 9mm pistol and Kalashnikov.

Justice Khan was scheduled to preside over hearing of various cases as a part of PHC’s divisional bench today.
