Federal capital witnesses rise in illegal weapons, drug cases

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Cases pertaining to illegal weapons and drugs have escalated in Islamabad during the span of one year.

The federal capital has witnessed a 47 percent rise in illegal weapons while 56 percent in drugs cases.

Interior ministry told National Assembly that illegal weapons cases in Islamabad increased from 727 to 1072 and drugs cases from 907 to 1418.

“Incidents of car and motorcycle theft have declined by 27 ans 21 percent respectively, looting by 24 percent, kidnapping by 21 percent and murder by 20 percent,” explained the ministry.

The dacoity events have minimized from 39 to 28 while looting episodes have curtailed from 427 to 403.
