IG orders investigation into driver's death in police custody
A man was allegedly killed in police custody in Karachi, reported on Wednesday.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Inspector General (IG) police Karachi on Thursday has ordered investigation into the driver’s death in police custody.
A man was allegedly killed in custody of police in Karachi, reported on Wednesday.
According to details, a man identified as Tariq Mustafa, had informed police about his driver, Qaim Ali’s death in police custody. The man claimed that Qaim was allegedly died due to torture in police custody.
The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) authorities informed that the three policemen brought the man and went away after handing him over to the hospital authorities where he died of heart attack.
Following the IG orders, police have arrested three policemen after filling the first information report (FIR) against them.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
