SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) – A police officer, his driver and gunman were killed following an old enmity in Muridke district of Sheikhupura on Monday.

As per details, Khari Butt group opened indiscriminate fire and killed the three men.

The deceased inspector Zahid Rathore alias Pehalwan was appointed as a Station House Officer (SHO) at Lahore’s Rang Mahal police station.

The suspects were sitting inside a car outside Zahid’s residence and fired several shots when the victim came out along with his gunmen Bhola and Pappu.


Bullets fired on the vehicle of inspector.


They succumbed to their wounds on way to hospital.

Khari and Mateen Rathore group have been engaged in a dispute from the past five years over the issue of installing cable network in Muridke. The clash had already claimed 10 lives whereas all the murder suspects of Khari Butt group have been declared ‘proclaimed offenders’.

Police while taking the bodies into their custody have sent them for postmortem.

Muridke’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) confirmed the news and asserted that teams have been formed to arrest the suspects.
