KARACHI (Dunya News) – A city court in Karachi on Sunday granted bail to driver of ride-hailing service against surety bonds of Rs10000.
The driver was accused of harassment by his female customer.
On Saturday, a girl jumped out of moving cab in Karachi while accusing driver of harassment. The incident took place at Kala Pul bridge near Gora Qabaristan area.
The driver of the cab owned by one of the ride-hailing apps was handed over to police by the people after the woman alleged that the driver of the cab was misbehaving with her.
On the other hand, the 55-year-old cabbie has dispelled all allegations and stated that girl told him that she was out of money.
“Girl changed the address and placed a new location through app of ride-hailing service. Upon this, I told her that fare would increase in such case. Hearing this, the customer replied that she was out of money and telephoned his brother. He [his brother] asked me to deduct money from his account. I was sitting on the front seat whereas she was sitting on the back seat. How can I harass her?”, the driver can be seen hearing in the video.
Startlingly, the girl has refused to pursue the case.
