Gang nabbed in Hafizabad for allegedly extracting bone marrow from girls

HAFIZABAD (Dunya News) – Police officers on Monday have arrested a gang for allegedly extracting bone marrow from married girls in the name of dowry in Hafizabad.

According to security officers, suspect Amna bibi said that her gang used to trick females and take their blood samples for the extraction of bone marrow, adding that approximately 90 women have been affected by this crime so far.

Police sources told that the gang had pretended to be officials from government who wanted their spinal fluid for medical research purposes. They offered the victim s father monthly fee in exchange.

It was indicated that spinal fluid helps diagnose diseases. Police suspect that the spinal fluid may have been gathered to sell to homeopaths. It is still unclear whether the bone marrow or spinal fluid was extracted, but a medical superintendent at Hafizabad hospital clarified on his behalf that the the injection was made for the purposes of the extraction of spinal fluid.

The officers said that suspect Nadeem deceived the people by showing himself as an employee of district headquarters hospital.

On the other hand, the victims are facing immense health issues while some of them have also suffered disability.

Moreover, a case has been lodged into the matter by the victim s father.
