Summary Punjab IG has taken notice of the incident.
MULTAN (Dunya News)- In arguably one of the greatest heist in history of Multan, six robbers successfully looted gold worth Rs90 million and cash worth Rs45000 from Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank located in Shujabad’s Ghalla Mandi area.
As per details garnered, robbers audaciously entered bank in broad daylight and took whole staff hostage along with the two security guards. Then, they grabbed lockers’ keys and managed to flee on bikes with aforementioned gold and cash.
Cunning robbers also took away with them CCTV cameras along with device, cell phones of customers and bank’s staff.
On receiving news of robbery, heavy contingent of police arrived. City Police Officer Multan told media representatives that monetary value of gold looted would be ascertained after examining the bank’s record.
Inspector General Punjab Police has also taken notice of the incident and summoned report in this regard. He also directed to arrest culprits at earliest.
Meanwhile the case of robbery has been lodged in city police station. In the ongoing probe, police suspect involvement of banned outfit members whereas bank manager is also being investigated.
