Egyptian family refutes allegation of son beating mother to death
Campaign launched on social media aims at harming family's reputation.
(Web Desk) - The family of Egyptian 85-year-old woman Zeinab as-Sayyid Mahfouz, who was allegedly beaten to death by son to please his wife, has refuted the accusation and said that the victim was died of a brain clot, reported Arabiya.
Rajaa al-Araby, Zeinab’s oldest daughter, said that her brother is completely innocent and has nothing to do with their mother’s death.
She continued that her mother always praised her daughter-in-law for her good behavior. She said that the campaign launched on social media, demanding to punish her brother, aims at harming family’s reputation.
Responding to a question related to bruises on deceased’s face, Rajaa stated that when her mother suffered from the clot, she collapsed to the ground and had bruised around her eyes.
