GUJRANWALA: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have on Tuesday seized an illegal telephone exchange in Gujranwala in a joint operation, reported Dunya News.
In a joint operation by PTCL and FIA, an illegal telephone exchange was seized from Bhatti Bhangu, adjacent to Gujranwala, and computers, routers, DSL and other equipment was seized from the suspects. However, the prime suspect Tariq fled the scene.
The suspect had a tower in his house and had provided 300 connections in the area. PTCL was suffering a loss worth millions of rupees annually due to this fake exchange. FIA officer Ghulam Husnain Khan said that the equipment used in the illegal exchange was being used for illegal money exchange and could have been used for some terrorist activity as well.
