BERLIN (AFP) - Several men in a stolen Audi sparked a high-speed chase through eight motorways in Germany, police said on Friday, with the suspects getting away despite having more than a dozen patrol cars on their trail.
The car had caught the cops attention at about 1:15 am in western Germany s Duesseldorf, but before the officers could take a closer look, the driver stomped on the gas pedal.
Police called in reinforcements as the suspects zig-zagged through eight Autobahns before finally speeding across the Dutch border.
"It s all fun and games until people risk hurting themselves," a Duesseldorf police spokeswoman told AFP.
