LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the schedule for a T20I tri-nation series featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, set to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 17 to 29.

According to details, the group stage will see each team face the other twice across six matches, with the top two sides advancing to the final on November 29 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, making it a seven-match tournament.

The series will open on November 17 with hosts Pakistan taking on Afghanistan in Rawalpindi, followed by Afghanistan clashing with Sri Lanka on November 19.

Action then moves to Lahore, where Pakistan will face Sri Lanka on November 22, before playing Afghanistan on November 23. Afghanistan will then play Sri Lanka on November 25, and Pakistan will wrap up the group stage against Sri Lanka on November 27.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed said the tri-series would serve as vital preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, while also delivering top-tier cricket for fans.

“This will be Pakistan’s first-ever T20I tri-series as hosts and we are excited to host Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. It’s a perfect lead-up to next year’s World Cup and an opportunity to give fans thrilling cricket at home,” he remarked.

The COO also praised PCB’s recent track record in staging global tournaments, including the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier earlier this year, underscoring Pakistan’s capacity to successfully host major events.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is also preparing to host South Africa for a two-Test series, three ODIs, and three T20Is between October 12 and November 8 as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
