SHARJAH (Dunya News) - Afghanistan cricket team's captain and all-rounder Rashid Khan's elder brother, Haji Abdul Haleem Shinwari, has passed away.

The deceased was considered a highly respected and honourable personality in his community.

At the time of his brother's passing, Rashid Khan was leading his team in the ongoing tri-nation series in Sharjah. The sad news of his brother's death came after Afghanistan's first T20 match against Pakistan.

Despite the grief, Rashid Khan showed great courage and scored 39 runs off just 16 balls, boosting his team's morale. However, Pakistan won the match by 39 runs.

After the match, players from both teams gathered around the Afghan captain to express their heartfelt condolences.

On the other hand, in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, national players and the team manager can be seen hugging Rashid Khan and offering him comfort.
