(Web Desk) – Pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim have reportedly decided to retire from international cricket once against after Pakistan suffered early exit from T20 World Cup 2024.
Pakistan's T20 World Cup journey came to a shocking conclusion on Friday, with the team failing to qualify for the Super Eight stage of tournament.
Pakistan were knocked out the United States of America's game against Ireland was washed out due to rain. USA were awarded a point which was enough to propel them to the Super 8 stage from Group A.
Reports claimed that the decision from the senior players also comes after their unimpressive performance in the mega cricket event.
The cricketers have not issued any official statement in this regard. They are expected to announce the decision after Pakistan’s final game against Ireland on June 16.
Imad, 35, on March 23, 2024, Wasim reversed his previous retirement from international cricket. This decision came after meeting with the PCB officials regarding his return to the national team for the T20 World Cup.
Amir, 32, retired from international cricket in 2020 on 24 March he took his retirement back and made himself available for the Pakistan cricket team for T20 World Cup. He was a member of the Pakistan team that won the 2009 T20 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy.
