LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the pre-booking of tickets for the 9th season of the HBL PSL [Pakistan Super League].

According to PCB, the pre-booking of tickets for the 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League will commence on the evening of Feb 6 [Tuesday] at 5 o'clock.

The HBL PSL 9 is set to kick off on Feb 17 at the PCB headquarters in Lahore.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the marquee event will be played in four cities – Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi – with the finals of the six-team tournament taking place at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18.

The opening match will feature two-time winners and defending champions Lahore Qalandars facing off against the winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions, Islamabad United.

Over the course of the 34-match T20 tournament, Karachi will host 11 matches, including the Qualifier, two Eliminators and the finals. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium will each host nine matches, while Multan will witness five matches.

A highly anticipated clash between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings is scheduled for Feb 24 and March 9. Gaddafi Stadium will be the venue for the Feb 24 encounter, while the National Bank Stadium will host the showdown on March 9.

Kings, Qalandars, Sultans, and United will play five matches at their respective home grounds. Peshawar Zalmi will play four matches at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, and Quetta Gladiators are slated for three matches each in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, with an additional match at the Multan Cricket Stadium against the home side Sultans on Feb 25.

Similar to the previous edition, the upcoming ninth edition of the HBL PSL will unfold in two legs. The Multan Cricket Stadium and Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will collectively host 14 matches from Feb 17-27. Subsequently, the cricketing action will shift to Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium and Karachi’s National Bank Stadium, hosting 16 matches from Feb 28 to March 12.

The tournament will culminate in Karachi for the playoffs.
