INDIA (Web Desk) – Schedule of a long-awaited match between Pakistan-India for Cricket World Cup 2023 is expected to be revised because of a local festival.
The match has been scheduled for Oct 15, this year and on the same day will also be a first day of a local festival called ‘Navratri’, a festival to be celebrated with night-long Garba dance, mainly in Gujarat.
Indian media reported that authorities said that this might cause a major 'security' hassle in Ahmedabad.
As the news of match rescheduling hit the social media, the cricket lovers started to upload memes inspired by Bollywood movies and web series.
An annoyed cricket fan shared a screengrab ‘Here Pheri' movie using Paresh Rawal's dialogue 'Program me thoda change rehneka.'
Scores of cricket lovers have already 'booked expensive flights, non-refundable hotel rooms and even hospital beds in Ahmedabad for the match,' the media reported.
Another post featuring the web series 'Mirzapur 2' having Pankaj Tripathi saying 'Bhari nuksaan ho gaya humara.'
Another tweeted a snap of Amitabh Bachchan folding hands and tweeted, 'Ahmedabad Hotels Be like- Hum aapki sahayata nahi kar paenge.'
Media reported that the BCCI hasn’t made any official confirmation of rescheduling yet.
