PCB has demanded an account of Rs 14.4 million from Shakeel Sheikh

KARACHI (Dunya News) – In the story of corruption in the name of cricket, leaked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) documents have exposed the whole story of corruption. With the connivance of the former cricket board, millions of rupees were looted through government land for which a notice has been issued to former member PCB Governing Board Shakeel Sheikh.

According to details, PCB has started investigation into accounts and former advisor chairman PCB and former president of Islamabad Cricket Association Shakeel Sheikh has been issued notice on embezzlement.

PCB has demanded an account of Rs 14.4 million from Shakeel Sheikh. The notice inquires that what did Shakeel Sheikh do as advisor to chairman PCB? Why were his foreign trips necessary? And the heavy travel and dining allowances should also be explained. Board expenses incurred at Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad should also be accounted for.

According to the PCB documents, the Diamond Cricket Ground was used for commercial purposes with the contractor earning millions in the name of ground fee and grants being taken separately. The contractor also violated agreements with the PCB and the CDA.
