Wasim Akram apologizes to boxer Muhammad Waseem on behalf of Pakistan.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan captain and Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram sent his ‘massive congratulations’ to boxer Muhammad Waseem on his win and apologized to him on behalf of the whole country, Dunya News reported.

Wasim Akram took to Twitter and wrote ‘sometimes we as a country need to be “smacked on the face” with the fist of reality to wake us up and remind us how we should be treating our heroes.’

The 53-year-old announced that he will pick the boxer up himself from the airport next time.

Muhammad Waseem had earlier tweeted, “Im not fighting to get istaqbals at the airport. Im fighting so that Pakistan gets good Istaqbal all over the world. Every fight, every camp, every training, every tour, is another opportunity for me to show the boxing world the world class boxing talent Pakistan has.”

Let it be known that Pakistan’s flyweight star, Muhammad Waseem, had knocked down his Filipino opponent, Conrado Tanamor, in the first round of their bout held in Dubai on Friday night.
