Pakistan-India matches nothing less than war, says Virender Sehwag.

PANAJI (Dunya News) – Former India batsman Virender Sehwag said cricket matches between Pakistan and India are nothing less than a war.

The 40-year-old talked to media in a ceremony and said the debate is still ongoing whether India should play against Pakistan in the World Cup or not due to the political tensions.

Virender Sehwag further added that he has no intentions of joining politics and only wishes that people vote for the right leader in the elections.

Let it be known that Pakistan and India are scheduled to lock horns against each other in the 2019 World Cup on June 16, but it is still unclear whether the BCCI will allow its team to compete or not.

Tensions rose between both countries after Pulwama attack on February 14. New Delhi accused Pakistan of the assault which was denied by Islamabad and the latter offered complete cooperation to interrogate the matter. Fueling the tension, India violated Pakistan’s airspace on February 26.

On February 27, Pakistan Air Force shot down two Indian fighter jets that again intruded in Pakistan’s territory and capture a pilot alive who was later released as a peace gesture.
