LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has revealed that Quetta Gladiators seamer Mohammad Hasnain was called up for the upcoming ODI series against Australia since he “fills a hole we are looking for in the national team”.

Hasnain has grabbed the spotlight in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) since he is capable of bowling at an impressive 150km/h on a consistent basis.

In the five matches he has played for the Gladiators, Hasnain has taken seven wickets at an average of 21.85.

“Myself and Inzamam-ul-Haq watched a lot of the PSL and Hasnain fills a hole we are looking for in the national team,” Arthur, who is coaching the Karachi Kings, told the PSL website.

However, Arthur insists that the 18-year-old won’t be rushed into the playing XI and will instead take a similar route as Shaheen Shah Afridi.

“He has all the potential, and we are not going to rush somebody in, we will bring him slowly just like we did with Shaheen and will work with him to see if he is ready,” he said. “His pace is the most impressive.”
