PTI mulls removing Najam Sethi as PCB chief: sources
Sethi was allegedly appointed on political grounds by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Acting on its election pledge, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has decided to put to end the practice of political recruitments in sports bodies.
According to sources, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi would be removed from his post as he was allegedly appointed on political grounds by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Sources say the previous PML-N government compromised merit by bringing in their men at the helm of PCB.
Imran Khan, who championed PTI’s anti-corruption campaign, pledged to end the practice of nepotism, favouritism misuse of power in a wide-ranging address to the nation following his party’s victory in election.
