Summary Malik made 65 on just 43 balls.
(Dunya News) – Quetta Gladiators 156-8 (Rossouw 27, Gul 6-24) beat Multan Sultans 152-5 (Malik 65, Nawaz 1-18) by two wickets in the 17th fixture of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018.
Umar Gul’s six-for went in vain as Gladiators held their nerves to win a thriller at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
In pursuit of 153, Gladiators’ wickets continued to fall in regular intervals but batsmen kept required run rate under control. The match continued to swing one way, then the other, then the other again but in the end Sarfraz-XI got better of Shoaib-XI.
There were couple of useful contributions from Gladiators’ batsmen. With 22 required on 12 balls, Anwar Ali and Mohammad Nawaz hit two sixes on three balls. But Gul made a comeback and removed both batsmen to revive Sultans’ hopes.
In the last over, Gladiators needed 9 runs. Pakistan’s under-19 captain launched last-over six off Pollard for a dramatic win that lifted Gladiators to fourth in PSL standings.
