(Web Desk) – Former English captain Alastair Cook named three fast-bowlers who were the toughest to face in his entire career. Two of these bowlers are Pakistanis while the third is a little less known quickie from Australia.

England’s leading run-scorer in Test matches said Pakistani pacers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif have been the toughest bowlers to face. He praised their fiery pace as well as both swing and seam.

He also mentioned an unusual pick from Australia. Cook said Stuart Clark was hard to get away as he bowled good channels of line and length. Playing 140-matches, he has scored 11,057 runs with 30 centuries.

In the extensive career, he has faced numerous talented bowlers like Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Saeed Ajmal, Mitchell Johnson, Dale Steyn, Mitchell Starc, Muthiah Muralidaran and others. It is surprising that he mentioned Amir, Asif and Clark, despite such bigger names.

Cook struggled against Amir in both 2010 and 2017 series. Amir had got him out on a numerous occasions.
