ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has Tuesday held a reception in the honor of Pakistan cricket team that crushed India in the final of ICC Champions Trophy to claim the title.

The ceremony has been organized at the Prime Minister House where government officials including State Water and Power Minister Abid Sher Ali, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal and State Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb welcomed the triumphant team, which then met the premier.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shehreyar Khan, Pakistan Super League chairman Najam Sethi, chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq and other PCB officials are also alongside the national team. The families of players have also joined them on this special occasion.

The players will also receive Rs10 million each from Nawaz Sharif as was announced earlier by the PM.

It is worth mentioning here that the decision of granting money to cricket players was challenged by Tariq Asad Advocate. It was said in the petition that the national cricketers enjoy facilities of BS-22 officers besides match fees and central salary. The petition was heard by Islamabad High Court (IHC) today (Tuesday), and it has reserved the decision that will be announced later.
