MRF renews contract with Kohli for whopping INR 1 billion
Kohli is reportedly to pocket INR 1 billion to endorse MRF during matches for eight years
(Web Desk) – MRF has renewed contract with freshly ranked world’s top batsman in ICC rankings, Virat Kohli on Tuesday for a whopping INR 1 billion for eight years which is a ten percent spike per annum compared to his last deal.
Kohli is reportedly to pocket INR 1 billion to endorse MRF during matches for eight years.
The Indian ODI skipper had earlier roped in by the brand for INR 80 million for a period of three years. However, this INR 1 billion endorsement deal that Kohli has landed is bigger than what any Indian cricketer has been offered so far.
CEO of Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment, agency that manages Kohli, said: “Kohli has got a great rapport with MRF and the money is phenomenal.”
On the other hand, former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been roped in by Spartan for INR 60 million.
According to crictracker.com, Kohli is the only Indian athlete to have signed two INR 1 billion endorsement deals.
