Summary South African team batted first and made 258/9 in 50 overs but Pakistan could score only 195/6
COLOMBO (Dunya News) - Pakistan Women s Cricket team was beaten by 63 runs by South Africa in their first match of the World Cup qualifiers, reported Dunya News.
South African captain won the toss and elected to bat first. Chloe Tryon was the top scorer for African side as she added 79 runs whereas Nashra Sandhu was the highest wicket-taker of Pakistan with 3 whereas Javeria Khan got 2.
Opener Nahida Khan scored 35 runs but middle-order batters could not make significant contribution, apart from Nain Abidi, who was the highest scorer with 62 runs.
Captain Sana Mir scored 38 runs but they were not enough as Pakistan only scored 195 in 50 overs. Dane van Niekerk got two wickets for South Africa.
Pakistan s next game would be against Bangladesh on 8 February. The other teams in the group are Scotland and Papua New Guinea.
