Summary The auction was scheduled to be taken place on February 4.

MUMBAI (Web Desk) – The player auction for mega event Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 has been delayed to the third week of February due to the major decisions of Supreme Court of India, reported espncricinfo.

According to details, the auction was scheduled to be taken place on February 4 but it was suspended as Supreme Court of India dismantled the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) house by removing its president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke.

The court has also imposed various restrictions on the remaining eligible office bearers.

Last November, the IPL Governing Council decided to schedule the IPL 2017 tournament between April 5 and May 21.

However, with a four-member committee of administrators taking charge on Monday, the IPL is back on the priority list.

The committee of administrators also met with the BCCI management team to discuss the immediate decisions that need to be taken concerning IPL.
