NEW DELHI (Daily Dunya/ Web Desk) – The former India captain and president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Sourav Ganguly received death threat via an anonymous letter on Saturday.

Ganguly confirmed this news on Monday in a media talk. He said he has not lodged a formal complaint about this threat but has informed Kolkata police.

The letter was addressed to Ganguly’s mother Nirupa saying, “Your son is hereby warned not to attend the programme. If he dares to come here, you will not see him again.”

The threat was related to Sourav Ganguly’s visit to Vidyasagar University in Midnapore on January 19.

While explaining the news to press, Ganguly said, “Yes I’ve received the letter on January 7 and I’ve informed this to the police and the organisers. ‎Let’s see, nothing has been decided yet but it will be a live show programme and you all will come to know if I go there.”
