Summary Responsible middle order guiding Islamabad's run chase against Lahore Qalandars

DUBAI (Dunya News) - Lahore Qalandars bid farewell to Pakistan Super League (PSL) T-20 in the 20th match as Islamabad United beat Qalandars with 5 wickets to spare. Qalandars managed to set a target of 151 runs which United achieved with relative ease albiet at the loss of 5 wickets. Losing a nail biter match previously to Quetta Gladiators, it was Lahore Qalandars last chance to squeeze back in the game, which however they failed to do so. Karachi Kings will be celebrating the Qalandars elimination as they are right back in the game due to the greater number of points.

The match started with Islamabad United winning the toss and opting to field first.

Umer Akmal remained the star of the Qalandars innings, having scored a smashing 72 runs off 49 deliveries, followed by Sohaib Maqsood who contributed 57 runs off of 44 balls. The rest of the Qalandars batting lineup failed to stand against United s bowling attack especially Mohammad Irfan s who managed to take 3 wickets.

Islamabad United at one point looked in trouble during their innings but were quickly stablized by Misbah-ul-Haq, who managed to remain undefeated at 38 runs off 19 deliveries and went on to score the last boundary, effectively proving to be a nail in the coffin for Qalandars. BJ Haddin s excellent batting skills also helped significantly, contributing 54 runs off of 42 balls. Qalandars bowling did at one point seemed dangerous but failed in providing an overall effective attack and proved to be off little trouble for United s batsmen.
