PSL: Lahore Qalandars secure victory, beat Zalmi by 6 runs
Qalandars manage to contain Zalmi.
(Web Desk) - Lahore Qalandars finally manage to secure a victory against Peshawar Zalmi by 6 runs in an almost nail biter finish. Qalandars had set a handsome total of 164 runs for the loss of only 3 wickets. Zalmi falied to chase the target.
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to bowl first. Shahid Afridi put Lahore Qalandars to batting and Junaid Khan put Qalandars into early trouble by getting Chris Gayle only on the 3rd ball of the match.However, a spectacular innings by CS Delport, scoring 78 runs off 61 deliveries put Qalandar s right back into the game. Delport was also provided a strong and steady support in the form of Umer Akmal who managed 52 runs off 31 deliveries.
Meanwhile during Zalmi s innings, DJ Malan and Tamim Iqbal looked like the danger men with Malan scoring 42 runs and Tamim scoring 30 runs but Zalmi s batting middle order crumbled under Qalandar s bowling attack.
