Gulam Bodi banned for 20 years for match-fixing bids
Lorgat said aspects of the investigation were still ongoing.
CENTURION (AFP) - Former South African one-day and Twenty20 international cricketer Gulam Bodi was on Monday banned for 20 years after he admitted charges of contriving or attempting to fix matches in South Africa s domestic Twenty20 competition.
The ban, which will take immediate effect, was announced by Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Haroon Lorgat during the tea interval on the fourth day of the fourth and final Test between South Africa and England at SuperSport Park.
Lorgat said aspects of the investigation were still ongoing.
Indian-born Bodi, 37, who played one-day and Twenty20 internationals for South Africa, is banned from being involved in any international or domestic match or any other kind of function.
Five of those years are suspended on condition that Bodi commits no further offences.
