While talking to the media at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), he said that he would maintain his stance for the rest of his life. All the cricketers who damaged Pakistan’s reputation during the course of their international careers should not be allowed to play, he added.

The national cricketer said that the nation acknowledges his abilities and knows his importance in the ground for the Pakistan side. He said that PCB Chairman has assured him and others of keeping in mind their reservations.
The former One Day International (ODI) captain further said that he has forgiven everyone who was convicted of spot-fixing but he would stand by his stance as the matter involves Pakistan’s pride and integrity.
Hafeez and ODI skipper Azhar Ali were taken in confidence by Shehryar Khan over 23-year-old pacer Muhammad Amir s inclusion in the squad that is to play against New Zealand.
Shehryar Khan had held a meeting with the two on December 25.
Pakistan is to face New Zealand in January 2016 for three ODIs and three T20Is. However, some members of the team have denounced inclusion of Amir who was convicted in 2010 spot-fixing scandal leading to a five-year ban on the player.
