HAMILTON (AFP) - New Zealad won the toss and put Sri Lanka into bat Friday in the second Test at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
Both teams have named unchanged sides from the first Test in Dunedin, which New Zealand won by 122 runs.
The wicket has more of a green-covering than Dunedin and should offer assistance to the seam and swing bowlers.
"It looks incredibly green and it was important to win the toss," New Zealanda captain Brendon McCullum said.
"We ve been provided with the first opportunity to bowl and now we must ensure we execute straight away."
Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews said he would also have bowled first had he won the toss, but believed his side "have the skills and talent" to bat first.
New Zealand have not been beaten at home for 12 Tests, since March 2012 when South Africa toured.
