Summary India won the first Test in Mohali by 108 runs to take the lead in the four-match series.

BANGALORE (AFP) - South Africa were 177 for seven at tea on the opening day of the second Test against India at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.

AB de Villiers, playing his 100th Test, was dismissed for 85 off the last ball before tea. Kyle Abbott was unbeaten on zero.

South Africa had been reduced to 120-5 in the post-lunch session after being sent in to bat by Indian captain Virat Kohli.

India won the first Test in Mohali by 108 runs to take the lead in the four-match series.
