MOHAL (AFP) - India were 82 for three at lunch on the opening day of the first Test against South Africa at the I.S. Bindra stadium in Mohali on Thursday.

Opener Murali Vijay was unbeaten on 40 and Ajinkya Rahane was on three after India won the toss and elected to take first strike.

The Proteas dismissed Shikhar Dhawan (0), Cheteshwar Pujara (31) and skipper Virat Kohli (one) in the morning session.
