SHARJAH: (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has on Tuesday announced retirement from Test cricket. Malik said that he wants the youngsters to get chance. Malik said that he will continue playing One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty-20 cricket, reported Dunya News.
Shoaib Malik has said that he wants to play ODI and T20 cricket so announcing retirement from Test cricket. He said that he will continue playing First Class cricket also. “I want to play the ODI World Cup in 2019”, said Malik.

Malik played 35 Tests from Pakistan and his highest score in Tests came off during the current England series where he scored 245 in the first innings of the first Test. In his 34 Test matches, Malik scored 1898 runs with the help of 3 centuries and 8 half-centuries. In the final innings of his last Test, Shoaib Malik got out for a Duck.
Opener Mohammad Hafeez has said that Malik s retirement came as a surprise to him. "Just saw Malik a few hours back. He didn t say a word about this decision", said Hafeez.
