Shiv Sena's threats put an immediate question mark on India's ability to safely host the T20 cup.

(Web Desk) – In the wake of continuous threats from Hindu extremist party Shiv Sena, cricket fans from across the world have expressed outrage and raised questions over security of the upcoming World Cup Twenty20 event to be held in India next year.

The whole cricket world was jolted over anti-Pakistan protest when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief received an unexpected treatment during his visit to BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on October 19.

Shiv Sena fanatics, who oppose any affiliation with Pakistan, stormed the BCCI office and threatened the officials to send PCB chairman Shahryar Khan back to Pakistan.

Due to security reasons, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also withdrew Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar from serving duties in the ongoing one-day series between India and South Africa.

Dar was called in to officiate in the series and was scheduled to umpire in the fourth and fifth ODIs in Chennai and Mumbai on October 22 and 25 respectively.

"Under the present circumstances, it will be unreasonable to expect from Aleem that he will be able to perform his duties to the best of his abilities," an ICC spokesman said.

Also, amid threats from Indian extremist group Shiv Sena, Pakistani commentators Waseem Akram and Shoaib Akhtar pulled out from the fifth one-day international (ODI) between India and South Africa to be held on Sunday in Mumbai.

According to sources, the former Pakistani cricketers will leave India after fourth ODI in Chennai on Friday.

Shiv Sena s threats put an immediate question mark on India s ability to safely host the World T20 event next year.

Twitter users have taken to the social media to express their concerns and resentment over holding upcoming T20 cup in India in 2016 by trending #NoToWCT20inIndiaBecause.
