Summary 2 days have lapsed since Peshawar won the tournament but KP govt announced no reward yet

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Peshawar team won the national Twenty-20 tournament but failed to win Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) government’s hearts as the provincial government announced no reward for the triumphant team despite the lapse of 2 days, reported Dunya News.

Peshawar team has successfully defended the title yet there was no appreciation from Pakistan Thereek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in the province. In 2014, the Peshawar team had won the national T20 tournament but wasn’t offered any rewards by the provincial government. This time too, the provincial government has announced no rewards despite the lapse of 2 days.

Last year too, the Peshawar District Cricket Association had held a ceremony in the honor of the winning team but the provincial government didn’t pay heed to do anything. This year was no different.

By winning the T20 tournament despite the poor situation and lack of facilities, Peshawar team has proven that they can make the city and the province proud even without government patronage.
