FATAULLAH (Dunya News) – Pakistani national team’s first outing under new captain resulted in a loss for the touring side as it lost an unoffical match to Bangladesh Board XI on Wednesday by 1 wicket, reported Dunya News.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first.

Newly promoted up-the-order skipper Azhar Ali made 27 runs before faltering.

Once Harris Sohail and Muhammad Rizwan departed from the batting crease, Fawad Alam laid anchor as he played an unbeaten innings of 67 runs.

Opener Muhammad Hafeez top scored with 87 runs as the national team managed to put 268 runs on the board.

In reply to target, Bangladesh Board XI put a 9 runs opening partnership when its first wicket fell.

Bangladesh collapsed to 81 for 4 when Sabir Rehman came to the crease.

Sabir Rehman was the sole batsman to score a century in the match, scoring 123 runs at the crease during his innings.

Sohag Ghazi scored rapid-fire 36 runs, propelling his team to an easy win as the hosts reached the target with 7 balls to spare.

Junaid Khan took 4, Rahat Ali took 2 while Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah and Wahab Riaz took one wicket each.
