Summary Pakistan has won the toss and elected to field first. Nasir Jamshed in, Yasir Shah out.
LAHORE: (Web Desk) - The torture is over! Pakistan are all out for 160 and West Indies have beaten Pakistan comprehensively by 150 runs. Pakistan never looked convincing. Despite the early wickets during the first innings, West Indies was continually given help by Pakistan through dropped catches.
When Pakistan came on to bat in pursuit of 311, they were all set to lose it right from the start. Nasir Jamshed was gone for a golden duck. Another golden duck followed him in the same over. Younis Khan was the victim this time. Next over, Haris Sohail was gone for a duck as well. And ahmed Shehzad left the crease the very next over and before the end of the 3rd over, Pakistan were 1 for 4, which, by the way, is the worst ever start by any team in an ODI.
Misbah was quick to follow. At 25, however, he too laid his arms and Pakistan was in tatters at 25 for 5.
Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Akmal were able to put up an 80-run partnership. But after Sohaib left, there was no looking back. Pakistan were 160 for 10 in the end with Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood being the only two serious contributors. Sohaib scored 50 and Umar Akmal scored 59.
Andre Russell was brilliant with the ball as well. He took 3 wickets along with Jerome Taylor, who actually initiated the most devastating West Indian spell in recent years. Suleiman Benn took two while Jason Holder and Darren Sammy took one wicket each.

This is what Pakistanis feel right now: Looking for a Hitler.
It s all a lie. There never was that Hitler moment in real life. But if it could come true, it should have today. #CWC
— Ali Xaidi (@ali_raa) February 21, 2015
Shahid Afridi leaves as well. It was a soft dismissal. Jason Holder caught hold of one at the mid-off off Benn s bowling. Pakistan are now 157 for 9.
36 overs: Pakistan are 155 for 8.
Wahab Riaz departs as well. There was a bit of drama there but the third umpire felt that the catch was taken cleanly by the wicket-keeper Dinesh Ramdin. Pakistan are 155 for 8 now after 35.3 overs.
And those stubborn fans..
Abba adamant on watching the entire match. Sigh. #PakvsWI
— Aroosa Shaukat (@AroosaShaukat) February 21, 2015
Shahid Afridi is still at the crease and there is hardly any excitement left in the game. There was enormous support for Pakistan in the ground today but the fans were thoroughly disappointed by the dismal performance that their side displayed.
Magnificent occasion today at the Hagley Oval with outstanding support for both sides http://t.co/V6D27swTE1 #cwc15 pic.twitter.com/m1nRaBAOEJ
— ICC (@ICC) February 21, 2015 33 overs: Pakistan are now 146 for 7. With Umar Akmal gone, it is probably just a matter of when, not what anymore.
Most of the tweeps, however, never ever had a hope.
That s what happen when Afridi advice others how to bat #ICCWorldCup2015
— Gihan Abeyratne (@GihanFx) February 21, 2015
And that s it! Umar Akmal has found the lone fielder on the entire leg side boundary. He s hit that one straight to Smith and he made no mistake. It was a good innings but just like all good and bad things, it has ended. Pakistan are now 139 for 7. Umar Akmal scored 59 off 71 before getting out.
Only one man outside and he hits it straight to him #UmarAkmal #PakvsWI

Ever wondered what could be the limit of optimism? Here s the answer: Sky is the limit!
agr powerplay k overs main Wicket na giry to194 runs and 130 balls not a big target #PakvsWI
— #AleeRaxa (@OohAleeU) February 21, 2015 30 overs: Pakistan are 130 for 6. Umar Akmal is 51 off 65 and is still batting. Pakistan has taken the powerplay.
People seem impressed with what Umar Akmal has done so far..
For Pakistan to have any chances in this World Cup, Umar Akmal needs to be promoted to one down. #CWC15
— Shoaib (@schuaeb_) February 21, 2015
Umar Akmal has completed his fifty too. It s been a very good innings. It is pertinent to mention here that West Indies had just 2 fifties in their innings and that too small ones (50 by Simmons and 51 by Ramdin) yet they were able to score 310. That proves that if everyone chips in, 300 isn t really a big total.
27 overs: Pakistan are now 110 for 6 with Shahid Afridi and Umar akmal still on the crease.
Partnership is broken at last. Sohaib Maqsood is gone as Suleman Benn has taken a brilliant catch diving full length. Pakistan are now 105 for 6. Sohaib Maqsood is gone and with him have gone Pakistan s last hopes as well.
There are still people like these in this world.
Even though it s over..still feels like it s not over yet #PAKvWI #StillWatching
— Zoha (@SayedaZoeeShah) February 21, 2015 24 overs: After 24 overs, Pakistan are 95 for 5 now.
There are a few who are actually hoping against the hope.
Pak if 100 in 25 overs pak will be win #PAKvWI
— Bhakkarinfo (@Bhakkarinfo) February 21, 2015 21 overs: Pakistan are now 85 for 5. Is it still gettable? Is it? Hoping against the hope..
This one has just nailed it.. We hope so..
To be fair, they are just re doing 92 as everyone wanted. #PAKvWI
— Muneeb Ansari (@ansarim) February 21, 2015
Pakistanis seem to be going through some kind of trauma.
That s exactly how I felt when I forgot to do 2 questions in my ACCA Corporate Law paper & attempted in last 25mins! #PAKvWI #PT
— Team Green NEVER (@KabachiTweets) February 21, 2015 18 overs: Pakistan are 70 for 5 now. Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Akmal seem to be trying but this is probably too little too late in the day.
Pakistanis finally had something to cheer as Sohaib Maqsood hits a boundary and a six. Pakistan are now 61 for 5 after 16 overs.
Thank you Sohaib Maqsood for giving all Pakistan cricket fans something genuinely worth cheering. Absolute class shots. #pakvswi

An odd boundary and a very odd six have taken Umar Akmal s score to 13 off 11. This is about 2.6 runs more than his average (10.4) in his last 5 innings.
Can t believe k 40 runs hogaye hain. : D #PAKvWI

Shoaib Akhtar has all the right to be extremely disappointed over this pathetic performance by the top order.
This team doesn t deserve a place in quarter finals. But as a Pakistani, We all want to see this team in QF. #PAKvWI #CWC15 #PakvsWI
— Shoaib Akhtar (@ShoaibAkhtarPk) February 21, 2015 12 overs: Pakistan are 27 for 5 after 12 overs. Is it going to be a quick finish?

— Hina Mahar Nadeem (@HinaMaharN) February 21, 2015
Misbah, the skipper, is gone too. Now Pakistan are 25 for 5 after 10.3 overs.
This is the worst start by any team ever in a One-Day International (ODI). Previous worst was 4 for 4 by Canada some six years ago.
9 overs: Pakistan are 17 for 4 and struggling to get to somewhere less embarrassing than this.
Fans were definitely disappointed. They hadn t remained awake just to see this slaughtering.
My family is discussing different ways to torture this Pakistani side... #PakvsWI
— M. Nazar Syed (@ItsNazar) February 21, 2015
Pakistani tweeps, however, were furious over this selection.

This is on the cards too.

— Nazrana Yousufzai (@NazranaYusufzai) February 21, 2015
While Pakistan is nowhere near a chase anymore, there is a huge scope for being thrashed by the twitterati now..
1 run for 4 wickets. It s like watching an ISIS execution video. #PAKvWI

This actually is startling.

— Donovan Miller (@Donspech2004) February 21, 2015

Record in making? Maybe..
Anyone: what s the record most number of wickets gone before there were 2 runs on the board? We may get a record out of #PAKvWI yet!
— Adil Najam (@AdilNajam) February 21, 2015 3 overs: Pakistan have lost 3 wickets and have scored lesser runs. In fact, RUN. Yes, they are 1 for 3.
Pakistan have lost Ahmed Shehzad too. They are now 4 down for 1.

And Haris Sohail is gone too. Pakistan are 1 for 3 and there is a third duck.
Tweeps were livid with this performance.
Awful terrible pathetic mind blowing selection of Younis Khan and Nasir Jamshad in today s Match .. No words! #PAKvWI
— Dr Faisal Ranjha (@fasiranjha) February 21, 2015
Younis Khan leaves too. First ball and he s gone. It s 1 for the loss of 2 now and Pakistan are in all sorts of trouble. It s not been an over as yet and they have already lost the first two.
And straight away, there s a wicket. Nasir Jamshed goes first ball and Pakistan are struggling right from the first ball of the innings. They are one down and there s no hint of score on the board as yet.
Pakistan comes on to bat with 311 on the board to be chased down. This is going to be some task for sure.
Pakistan will be coming out to bat shortly. We ll keep you updating. Here are the catches dropped during the innings by Pakistani fielders.
Here is West Indian fall of wickets
50 overs: West Indies have put up a massive 310 and Pakistan will surely have to bat brilliant to chase this down.
Pakistan have always been bad chasers. And it s a massive total to be chased down. There seems to be little hope, if any.
I been off field for last 45 over so my conscience clear. #PAKvWI
— Nasir Jamshed (@NasirJamshed_) February 21, 2015
West Indies has had enough finally. They have scored 310 for the loss of 6 wickets in their 50 overs. Russell was cruel at the end of the innings. He scored 42 runs off just 13 balls and remained unbeaten.
Wake up to find WI raining 4s and 6s. Pakistan is in the predicament it shouldn t be in; it s a bad chaser of a big total. #PakvsWI
— Mehr Tarar (@MehrTarar) February 21, 2015
Adding insult to the injury, this parody account continued to mock at Pakistan.
I been off field for last 45 over so my conscience clear. #PAKvWI
— Nasir Jamshed (@NasirJamshed_) February 21, 2015
Simmons completes his 50. He has completed it in just 46 balls with the help of 4 boundarieas and a six.
That s massive! Out of the stadium. Russell seems to be out to murder Pakistani bowlers. 3 sixes off that last over.
Now I know why they call these the Death Overs .....we re all dying watching them #PAKvWI
— Mr Pakistan (@MrPakistan786) February 21, 2015 48 overs: 271 for 5. Russell has taken off exactly from where Sammy had left.
The dangerous Sammy is gone as Shahid Afridi finally gets hold on to one of them. Wahab Riaz was the bowler and Sammy scored 30 off 27. That was certainly a very useful contribution to the West Indian cause. West Indies are now 259 for 5.
Puri qom ko Afridi ka catch Mubarak ho. #PAKvWI
— Nazrana Yousufzai (@NazranaYusufzai) February 21, 2015

Some of them thought Pakistani fieldsmen were handikapped or something probably.
Had Pakistani team not skipped their polio drops they would not drop so many catches. #PAKvWI

Even common men could catch few of them. This is what this Noreen thinks.
You know what, you and I could ve caught some of them. Awful. #PAKvWI
— Noreen Khan (@DJNoreenKhan) February 21, 2015
251 comes up for the West Indies. They are 251 for 4 now after 46.2 overs.
Irfan has dropped another one at the third man. This is Pakistan s 5th for the day. This cannot get any worse than this.
What I will see is #GreenShirts dropping catches rolling and tumbling around like toddlers. Lakh lanat! #PakvsWI
— Marziyeh (@misiyeh) February 21, 2015
No hopes whatsoever for Pakistanis in the field now.
For a moment I was worried he will catch it #PAKvWI
— Nadir Daman (@nadirdaman) February 21, 2015
Wahab Riaz has been brought back into the attack and he has started off with 5 wides as Umar Akmal could get nowhere near it despite the attempt.
45 overs: West Indies are 231 for 4 and it s acceleration time now.
Mohammad Irfan has also finished his quota of 10 overs. He took one wicket in his spell and gave away 44 runs. It was the all important Gayle wicket that he took.
Ahmed Shehzad almost laid his life down to stop that one. How? This tweet explains...
Ahmed Shehzad hit in a "funny area". Hahaha what a commentary #PAKvWI
— MbZ (@MbZeee) February 21, 2015
Poor poor poor fielding. Pakistan continues to suffer from poor fielding as Mohammad Irfan failed to come down to the ball before it reached the boundary.
Waisay someone pls tell me how does one place Irfan on Mid-On What a planning !!!! #PAKvsWI
— Salman (@SalmanPTI) February 21, 2015
Pakistan s fielding - up there with England s batting and bowling #PAKvWI
— Carl (@carl_9994) February 21, 2015 42 overs: West Indies are 216 for 4. There were 2 boundaries and a six in the 42nd over.
Nasir Jamshed can bat at any number according to the latest update. Third Umpire has said that he got an injury while trying to catch the ball and as it was an external injury, he can bat at any number.
Shahid Afridi is done with his quota of 10 overs and has not been able to get any wickets. He gave away 48 runs in his 10.
.jpg)
Finally, Pakistan gets its fourth wicket. Ramdin was brilliant for his 51 but Sohail Khan has now undone him and West Indies are 194 for 4 after 39.5 overs.
Ramdin completes his 50. A brilliant innings that is, under pressure.
Dropped chances have literally shattered Pakistanis confidence.
I bet Umer Akmal is blind because of those florescent coloured gloves #PakvsWI
— Binte Naqvi (@Maham_786) February 21, 2015 39 overs: West Indies are 188 for 3 after 39 overs and Misbah seems to be out of choices.
Another news from the middle is that Bravo won t be able to move with ease as his hamstring is going to be strapped.
Ramdin continues to punish Pakistani bowlers and fans alike.

Massive attendance at Hagley Oval, Christchurch today.

36 overs: After 36 overs, West Indies are 167 for 3 and are all set for a huge total.
News from the middle right now is that Nasir Jamshed has been off the field for quite some time now and will not be able to open the innings for Pakistan.
Wahab Riaz is doing some excellent stuff here. Despite a few catches dropped off his bowling, he has given 27 off just 27 runs and conceded only 1 run in that last one. West Indies now 157 for 3 after 34 overs. Sohail Khan has been introduced into the attack now.
33 overs: West Indies are 156 for 3 and the first two overs of the powerplay haven t really been great. 5 runs off the first 2 overs.

DM Bravo has got retired hurt after Ahmed Shehzad incidentally hit his leg while trying to get him run out. He had earlier received a throw right into his hand by Shahid Afridi.

Back to back boundaries for Dinesh Ramdin. And again, Shahid Afridi was unable to cope with the ball at the boundary. He s not having a great day in the fielf for sure.
27 overs: West Indies are 119 for 3. Pakistan s fielding is below par even according to Pakistani standards.
Pakistanis felt let down as Shahid Afridi drops yet another catch. This is his second while Pakistan s fourth today.
Another drop catch, Another injury while dropping a catch ... Wow brilliant! #PakvsWI

Pakistan gets the third wicket as Yasir Shah catches Marlon Samuels at the long on boundary off Haris Sohail s bowling. West Indies are now 103 for 3.
24 overs: West Indies now 103 for 2.
21 overs: West Indies are 91 for 2.
Shahid Afridi drops Marlon Samuels on the last ball of 19th over. Bowler Wahab Riaz is disappointed on the effort.
18 Overs: 83/2, Bravo and Samuels on crease.
15 Overs: 69/2, Umpire Nigell Long gets it wrong two consecutive deliveries. Darren Bravo still on crease after a successful review.
Afridi and Wahab Riaz on attack.
Shahid Afridi was hating it when the umpire got it entirely wrong as the ball clipped Bravo s pad on its way to the boundary but umpire gave it as 5 wides while on the very next ball, the umpire got it wrong again when he gave Bravo out. The decision was reversed however, by the third umpire on review.

9 Overs: 38-2, Marlon Samuels hits Ifran for consecutive fours of the last overs.
Pakistan gets the second one as Smith edges one by Sohail Khan to the second slip where Haris Sohail takes a simple catch. West Indies now 28 for 2 after 7.5 overs.
Sohail Khan bowled a brilliant maiden over just after Irfan s wicket-taking over. Keeping the pressure up.
Maiden over by Sohail! *Claps* Good job bwoy. #PakvsWI
— Nosheeen #TeamPak (@ItsAllBakwas) February 20, 2015 6 Overs: 17-1. Gayle out, Dwayne Smith and Darren Bravo in. Irfan troubling batsman with short length deliveries.
Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Hina Pervez Butt was jubilant.

— Hina Butt Hayat (@hinaparvezbutt) February 20, 2015

But the very next ball the danger man, Chris Gayle, skied one up while trying to hook one out of the park and Wahab Riaz made no mistake. West Indies are 17 for 1. Irfan strikes.
And Nasir Jamshed drops a sitter at the third man s position. Injured his finger and Michael Holding was spot on when he said, "This has added insult to the injury". Nasir moves out of the ground, Yasir Shah comes in to field for him. Smith gets a new life.

Pakistan s key to success in today s game: Shahid Afridi

Pakistan has won the toss in its second encounter of the World Cup 2015 and has decided to bowl first against West Indies at Hagley Oval Stadium, Christchurch. Skipper Misbahul Haq said while talking to Ramiz Raja after the toss that Nasir Jamshed has been inducted into the side while Yasir Shah is going to rest in this game.
Earlier, Wasim Akram and Scott Styris analyzed the pitch and said that any side winning the toss should bowl first as there was a lot of grass on the pitch and the batsmen were expected to face problems, especially early in the innings.
