Summary New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second ODI against South Africa.
MOUNT MAUNGANUI (AFP) - New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second one-day international against South Africa at Bay Oval on Friday.
The Black Caps lost the opening match of the series at the same venue on Tuesday and captain Brendon McCullum said he noticed the pitch slowed as the match wore on.
"We thought the other day it slowed up for the bowlers and got a bit easier to bat," he said.
"So we thought if there s anything in it, it ll be in the first 50 overs."
New Zealand have brought pacemen Tim Southee and Mitchell McClenaghan into the attack at the expense of Kyle Mills and Nathan McCullum.
The Proteas called up batsman David Miller to replace Ryan McLaren.
