DELHI: (Web Desk) – In yet another surprising collapse, West Indies found themselves all out for just 215 runs while the team had scored 170 runs for the loss of 2 wickets only. While Smith’s 97 was something that had laid the foundations of an easy win over the World Champions India, West Indies imploded to lose all its remaining wickets within next 45 runs.
While he top 3 batsmen had collectively scored 163 runs, the remaining 8 could manage only 50 runs. India gave only 2 extra runs in the innings, leaving West Indies total to a mere 215. West Indies are right on their way to chase Indian total of 264 runs as they have lost only 3 wickets so far to score 170 runs. Smith was simply been brilliant for his 97 off just 97 balls. His innings, starred with 2 sixex and 11 boundaries, literally pushed the Indian bowlers on the defensive. So far, all the batsmen of the West Indian side have got good starts. Smith scored 97, Bravo scored 26 runs off 44 balls and Pollard batted well for his 40 off 50. Mishra got Pollard’s wicket while Mohammad Shami claimed Bravo’s. West Indies still need 101 runs to pull out the second victory of the series.
Earlier, India got all out for 263 and set a target of 264 runs for West Indies. Indian batting was going fine with Kohli and Raina batting at the two ends just before Rampaul and Taylor claimed both within a span of 17 runs. Skipper MS Dhoni batted well for his unbeaten 51 off just 40 balls. He held the Indian innings together after the departure of both the set batsmen. However, Jadeja (6) and (Bhavneshvar Kumar (18) weren’t of much help. Shami remained undefeated with 1 run.
Taylor got three important wickets for West Indies including those of Dhawan, Raina and Jadeja while Rampaul, Benn, Bravo and Sammy took 1 wicket each.

Indian batting has stabilized after losing Dhawan early in the innings. The team has scored 158 for the loss of 3 wickets courtesy some brilliant batting by Suresh Raina who is still undefeated at 39 runs off just 38 balls along with Virat Kohli batting at 42 off 57 balls.
Dhawan was bowled out by Taylor when he was batting at 1 only off 9 balls. Rahane and Rayudu batted well to take the scoreboard to 50 where Rahane gave in. He was caught by Dwayne Bravo of Sammy’s bowling. Rayudu was next to go who lost his wicket to Benn. He scored 32 runs off 54 balls.
Game is still going on and India seems to have stabilized now as runs are coming quickly off Raina and Kohli’s bats.
