Summary New fuel rates take effect from midnight
ISLAMABAD – The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel across Pakistan under the latest fortnightly fuel price revision.
The revised rates, announced by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), will come into effect from July 29, 2026. The adjustment has been made under the government's revised petroleum pricing mechanism following recommendations by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
According to the official notification, the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has been increased by Rs1.63 per litre, taking the new ex-depot price to Rs335.81 per litre from Rs334.18 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs1.55 per litre. The new ex-depot price of diesel now stands at Rs388.38 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs386.83 per litre.
The Ministry of Energy said the revised prices have been determined under the government's petroleum pricing mechanism and will be effective from July 29, 2026 (Wednesday).
Petrol is the most widely used fuel by private vehicles, motorcycles and small transport, while high-speed diesel is primarily consumed by heavy transport vehicles, agriculture and industrial machinery. Changes in fuel prices often have a direct impact on transportation costs and the overall cost of goods and services across the country.
