Summary PTI says KP government will present full-year budget after legal hurdles block three-month plan, pending final decision by authorities.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai has said that the provincial government has decided to present a full-year budget instead of a three-month budget.

Shaukat Yousafzai said Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had planned to present a three-month budget if a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan could not take place. However, he added that legal complications created hurdles in presenting a three-month budget.

The PTI spokesperson said not presenting a full-year budget could create economic difficulties for the province. He added that the party, keeping the wider interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in view, advised the Chief Minister to present the annual budget.

Shaukat Yousafzai said the provincial budget could be presented on Friday, June 19.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Minister Meena Khan Afridi told Geo News that no final decision had yet been made on whether the budget would be presented or whether it would cover three months or the entire year.

Meena Khan Afridi demanded that the Chief Minister and Finance Adviser should be allowed to meet Imran Khan, saying that the public had given him the mandate and consultation with him was necessary.

She added that Imran Khan would provide guidance regarding relief measures for the public in the provincial budget.
