ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved a 33 paisa per unit increase in electricity tariffs under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.
The hike, applicable for the first quarter of the fiscal year, is expected to add over Rs6 billion to consumer bills, covering the period from December to February. The increase will affect domestic users, government departments, and K-Electric customers.
NEPRA has sent its decision to the federal government for final approval. The Power Division has welcomed the move and started procedures to issue the official notification.
