Train operations are set to resume by Oct 15
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Pakistan Railways has completed 40 per cent of the restoration work on a bridge damaged in a militant attack in Balochistan last month, media reported on Wednesday, saying train operations are set to resume by Oct 15.
The bridge, located in the Bolan area of the Kachi district in Balochistan, was destroyed in one of multiple militant attacks on Aug. 26.
Pakistan Railways suspended train operations via the bridge, which connects the militancy-hit province to other parts of the country.
“The Pakistan Railways has successfully completed 40 percent of the restoration work on a bridge damaged by terrorism in Quetta, the Associated Press of Pakistan said.
“The spokesperson assured that the bridge would be ready for train operations by October 15.”
He said the rail connection between Balochistan and other parts of the country via the bridge would be restored once the railways receive security clearance.
