PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is all set to present a surplus Rs1,600 billion budget 2024-25.

Provincial Finance Minister Aftab Alam said the people would be given relief in electricity tariff while welfare cards would also bring ease to the commoners’ lives.

He said new taxes would also be imposed due to the financial constraints.

He said the province was enriched with the natural resources and the reservoirs would also be exploited.

Meanwhile, a meeting of provincial cabinet has been called at 11am on May 24 for the approval of the budget.

The assembly meeting will also be held at 3pm tomorrow while KP governor has approved the summary.

It should be noted that interim government had approved two budget for four month each Rs462 billion and Rs529 billion in its tenure.
