Flour prices go up in Punjab
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Flour millers on Tuesday jacked up the flour price in Punjab after the increase in the wheat price.
The 20-kilogramme flour bag was increased by Rs100 and being sold at Rs2,800 in Punjab, said Chairman Pakistan Flour Mills Associations, Asim Raza.
The sources said that flour price of 20kg bag had been increased by Rs100 while fine flour prices was raised by Rs200 per sack.
The flour mills association chairman said the flour prices would further go up and the government should allow the import of wheat to defeat the ‘mafia’.
The wheat prices remained high in the open market and the small flour mills showed a restraint from buying the wheat.
The citizens demanded immediate reduction in the flour prices as the wheat products were used as the staple food which must be cheaper at any cost.
