Is SBP all set to issue Rs10,000 banknote?

LAHORE (Web Desk) - There is a picture getting viral on the social media that the State Bank of Pakistan is all set to issue a new bank note of Rs10,000.

Though the social media consumers are criticizing the ever-shattering economic conditions of Pakistani economy and rupee devaluation, yet the picture has a number of shortcomings that discloses the reality of the banknote that it is a fake and fabricated currency note.

For Instance, the name of the governor SBP is Yasin Anwar on the note. Yasin Anwar was the governor SBP from October19, 2011 to January31, 2014 while the current governor of SBP is Jamil Ahmad that is the main proof the note’s reality as fake and fabricated one. A new banknote is always issued with the name of the new governor on it.

When contacted, SBP authorities said the central bank is not going to issue any such banknote and urged the public not to listen to such rumors.

They said the public must visit SBP official website and social media account. Such rumors also made waves on social media in 2018.
