ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Finance Ministry officials have failed in persuading the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in changing the target goals.
The Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar asked IMF staff for review during a meeting at the sidelines of the Geneva conference, he pressed them to accomplish the goals in the side meeting.
Prior to the arrival of the IMF delegation and before talks for the loan s subsequent installment, the IMF insisted that the goals be reached.
The Fund does not want to change its objectives despite the post-flood circumstances since without achieving the benchmarks the IMF program will not be finalised, according to sources.
