He was presiding over a meeting of National Price Monitoring Committee in Islamabad, which reviewed prices of essential commodities during last week.
The Finance Minister directed Ministry of Industries and Production to expedite the process for building strategic reserves of sugar in the country to maintain stability in its prices.
Expressing concern over the prices of pulses, he directed provincial authorities to control the hike in prices of pulses by keeping a check on hoardings and supply disruptions.
